Molecular Fused Layer Technology
In technological terms, we belong to a very special stratum
The secret of ERS' success, and prerequisite for the efficacy of our heating technology, is the special layer technology we use. At a temperature of several thousand degrees, a tissue-paper-thin heating layer is fused with an infrared-permeable toughened safety-glass pane. The process is conducted by an ultra-precise fully-automatic plasma robot. The permanent and inseparable bond radiates heat straight from the heating layer into the room – without loss.
What distinguishes ERS Heatscreens from other infrared heaters?
Why ERS infrared heating? ERS’ patented layer technology, and the fact it’s made in Austria! ERS Heatscreens consist of 4 layers: A ceramic layer, heating layer, another ceramic layer and a protective layer. These 4 layers are fused with toughened glass pane at several 1000 degrees, the fusion ensuring infrared heat is radiated directly from the heating layer out into the room and back into the masonry without transmission loss.
Correct positioning is crucial!
When installing, a wall should be chosen from which the infrared heater can radiate freely into the room – if possible, close to the floor in the lower to middle third of the room. Panels can be mounted horizontally or vertically, depending on the space available, and on their appearance and design. The minimum recommended distance to solid furniture is 1 to 2 metres. Regardless of whether the walls are internal or have an external face wall, the radiant heat reaches every corner of the room in a short time. Do not position panels opposite large glass surfaces, such those as found in a conservatory, since heat radiation is absorbed less efficiently by glass than by wooden or brick walling.
ERS Heatscreen concept and technology
Carrier material made of glass and ceramics
The material composite made of a specially-developed combination of glass and ceramics, similar to that used for Danish tiled stoves, has proven very successful.
Core temperature = surface temperature
All heating layers are fused together. There is no transmission loss. The temperature of the heatscreen is also radiated directly into the room.
No transmission loss
The specially developed plasma coating process allows for the molecular fusing of a layer of composite material with the glass.
Optimum operating temperature of approx. 90 to 100°C
A large proportion of the radiant heat is emitted directly into the room at between 90°C to 100°C.
Ultra-high performance in a minimal space
The ERS Heatscreen is available in 4 sizes, and chosen according to room size. The heating layer radiates extremely efficiently in a small area, so it’s good to know the heating layer only needs to work to 1% of its overall capacity.
Thin, light and extremely effective
An ERS Heatscreen is only 5-7mm thick, so it can heat up very rapidly and emit heat immediately.
Extremely short heat-up period
An ERS infrared heater takes a maximum of 10 minutes to reach maximum effect, so rooms become comfortably warm very quickly.
Even heat distribution
The heat is evenly distributed across the ERS Heatscreen and radiates directly into the room from the entire surface.
Heat radiates to the front and to the rear
This unique heating system is made in Austria and radiates both to the front and to the rear, so walls also heat up and store warmth.
100% made in Austria with an 8-year warranty
The absence of additional electronic components and other parts means there’s no wear and tear. The working life of an ERS infrared heater is long, so we provide an 8-year guarantee.
100% plastic-free
No plastics and no flammable materials are incorporated.
Cheaper than conventional electric heating
Conventional heating with electricity is far more expensive than infrared heaters. Conventional heaters first heat up the air in the room. Radiation loss also occurs due to outdated technologies like heating wires, mats and fibres. Infrared radiation heats all objects, individuals, walls and thus all contents of a building. The effect on the masonry is harmless and sustainable, and reduces electricity consumption.
Masonry is dry at all times
Infrared radiation emitted out back into the walls constantly warms and dries the masonry, maximising its insulation capacity. Dry walls are ideal insulators, and dry masonry protects a building’s superstructure from mould. Regardless of the building material, the drier the walls – the more effectively they insulate and the greater the savings on energy.
3 rules for 100% efficiency
1. Unobscured positioning on the wall
ERS Heatscreens should not be mounted directly behind furniture or curtains. Heat must be able to radiate freely into the room. Whether you mount horizontally or vertically is a matter of aesthetics. The only place the panel must not be mounted is on the ceiling. The ERS Heatscreen with its patented layering technology was specially developed and manufactured to be mounted on walls.
2. In the lower to middle third of the room
It makes most sense to mount an ERS Heatscreen in the lower third of the room, at a maximum of shoulder height, in order to make optimum use of the radiation.
3. No glass opposite
Wooden and brick walls absorb and pass on infrared radiation much better than glass. For this reason, care should be taken during installation to ensure there are no large glass facades or conservatory-like structures in direct proximity.
